Models
Here is the fruit of our efforts! We would like you to share your modeling triumphs. Please send us photos, and, if possible, written descriptions of just how you modeled that rebuild of the XYZ Railroad's 8'7" interior height box car. You can send it to us digitally at modeling@steamfreightcars.com, Subject: Model or by snail mail to: Ted Culotta, 645 Tanner Marsh Road, Guilford, CT 06437. Please be as detailed as possible! If you wish to remain anonymous, we will honor your wishes.
There are a few guidelines regarding submission of material:
The car must be of a specific prototype and be prototypically accurate. Stand-in models will be permitted if the dimensions are not radically different from the prototype. In addition, there cannot be any deviation from the details (if the prototype car had a Viking roof, the model cannot be considered if it has a Murphy Panel Roof).
Stand-in models will only be considered if there is not a more prototypically model available. For example, a model of the Seaboard's B-6 1932 ARA Box Cars using the Red Caboose 1923 ARA (X29 style) will not be considered since Sunshine Models offers a kit that is an exact match for the prototype.
The two above guidelines may be overridden if the modeling technique used is compelling enough in its own right.
Thank you for your understanding.
