CP 245386 was built using the Funaro & Camerlengo HO scale resin kit. I made brackets for the AB Valve and Reservoirs from 0.003" flat sheet brass. The ladders are Tichy 'Canadian' ladders with integral stirrup steps, as included in the kit, except that the rungs have been replaced with 0.010" styrene rod (see photo below.) The prototype's ladder rungs were bent into holes in the stiles, so therer were no rivet attachments to be modeled. The lettering was created in Adobe Illustrator to match a photo of car 245386 as it appeared in 1947. The car was painted with a mixture of Floquil box car and oxide reds. Weathering was a combination of artists' oils and Bragdon's powders. Trucks are Accurail's ARA cast sideframe ('Bettendorf' is what Accurail calls them.)
