Gallery - Shot of the Month

The Shot of the Month is designed to showcase freight cars within a context. They will typically be yard shots. The aim is to provide a locale and as specific a date as possible and then to identify as many cars as possible. This will provide a basis for modelers to understand what types of cars were interchanged in certain places at defined points in time. We are hopeful that this will illustrate the mix of cars that existed in locales throughout the country and debunk some of the myths that modelers have created and perpetuated - for example, "XYZ Railroad's cars never came this far East."
