In 1937 the NP ordered what were essentially 1937 AAR Box cars save for the use of double sheathed wood sides. A total of 520 of these cars were delivered by Pacific Car & Foundry and were placed in the number series 9480-9999. This photo shows one of the cars as it appeared in the early 1970's, shortly before assignment to company service or scrapping. We hope to post a builder's photo of one of these cars in the very near future.
